Cruises to Windsor

About Windsor

Windsor is a small town near the border of Detroit, Michigan and Ontario, in Canada, that is typically a stop on Great Lakes cruises from which cruisers can take shore excursions in and around the Detroit area. Though most of the nearby attractions, like the Henry Ford Museum, lie across the river in Detroit, Windsor itself has an interesting history as a border town with several attractions worth checking out.

Windsor is home to interesting National Historical sites including the Sandwich First Baptist Church, which was established by Underground Railroad refugees, and the scenic riverfront Coventry Gardens that dates back to 1931. The city also boasts a large and popular casino, an extensive bike trail that takes cyclists through downtown and past a number of attractions and into several adjacent neighborhoods. Those visiting in the heat of summer might also opt to visit Sandpoint Beach for a day of watersports and fun in the sun.
