Overall Positive First Oceania Cruise
"There were a lot less passengers on most excursions so we got personal service and we always felt safe and confident that we would get back to the ship in time. The any-time seating worked perfectly with just a few minute wait even at the busiest time...."Read More

Good, yet not the best experience.

Review for Marina to Transatlantic

We selected this cruise because I wanted to go across the Atlantic one more time; however, as a civilian. I have several transatlantic crossings under my belt as a USN sailor. This particular cruise had several stops, as some do not. This made my wife happy. We also got a very good price by booking about two years in advance. The food was great. The entertainment was better than average. Having ...

This was our second cruise with Oceania, although we are frequent cruisers. This cruise did not disappoint. The staff were excellent, extremely friendly yet professional. It is lovely when they remember your name and I marvel at their ability to learn new names every few weeks! The ship was spotlessly clean and had plenty of seating and pool chairs all the time so there was no sense of ...

Looking for a three-fer: Machu Picchu, Panama Canal, and Chichen Itza, BUT 1. Turmoil in Peru - no Pre cruise visits 2. Canal - cool; bucket list, but poor excursions 3. Railroad repairs blocking roads, no Big Mayan event. 1 of 3 done. Cabin and floor crew - outstanding - 10 floor Dining - good specialties, fair grand dining room; Terrace - just no. Food availability limited - ...

Worst Cruise experience

We chose this cruise for two reasons. First, to spend time with my parents who traveled with us, and to see the southern part of South America which we had not seen prior. From that standpoint we accomplished goal one, and partially goal two. I'm a cruise veteran, having been on seven different cruise lines, for a total of 18 cruises. This was by far the worst experience we've had ...

Communication not in their vocabulary. Suite was great. Food Average. Entertainment so so. Service spotty

We chose this cruise for the itinerary, food expectations, and service levels. Not sure they lived up to any of it. While they cannot do anything about the weather (cancelling the Falklands) and uprisings (cancelling Pisco), their complete inability to communicate was unacceptable. Pisco was cancelled before we even boarded, but they told no-one. We only learned about it by the itinerary ...

Wanted to do South America in comfort.. this was our 3rd cruise with Oceana Most of the staff were wonderful, some of the staff when just mechanical in responses some were totally arrogant, dismissive and could not care less - not just us but others also. Internet access and speed (lack of - worse than the old dial-up) - allowing just one log-in per cabin - when two people are in the cabin is ...

A big disappointment

We’ve had four successful cruises with Oceania, including the Amazon, so continuing around South America with them seemed obvious. A sad mistake. Our experience has been that it was very poorly planned by the itinerary team from the outset, we suffered three failed port visits for a mix of weather and ‘safety concerns’ (one, the Falklands, not unusual, but three!). The low point was a port ...

Would not do this cruise again. Many ports were small towns with not much to see. Several ports canceled. Weather was bad. Food was great and so was the service. Older ship to be refurbished. Our cabin was balcony and average to smaller that Celebrity. Dinning Room was great and so was the food. We only did private tours. Loved seeing Uruguay, but Skipped Falkland Islands because of ...

Extremely Disappointed

We are experienced travelers on both ocean and river cruises as well as independent travel over the past 20 years. This was our fourth cruise with Oceania, we did two before COVID and one after; but this was the first on Marina. We selected this cruise because of the itinerary which included the fjords of southern Chile and Antarctica. Our previous cruises with Oceania were on the smaller ships ...

We were meant to go on this trip in 2022 but Covid got in the way. So we were really looking forward to this cruise. Given the brochures outlined that we were going to experience the finest cuisine on the seas we had very high expectations. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. We would advise anyone thinking of booking a cruise with Oceania don't do it on the basis of their promises ...
