SOULESS SHIP
"Took this NCL Prima cruise so we could visit a couple of countries we have never been to before, Negative bits first, the ship really is awful, outside looks like some wishy washy 90's retirement complex in Florida, inside is a mix of Holiday inn on a German industrial estate with again a 90's Arndale shopping mall feel to most of the public areas, there's not a piece of real timber or craftsmanship anywhere in the ship just printed plastic and tin, not one bit of luxury anywhere, dreadful atrium feels like reception in a hospital building, what little furniture there is, is awful and colours are so drab, every corridor, stairwell, lift totally lifeless and empty of any interesting features, the pool deck has has an eye wateringly bright large screen tv which was playing the same few minute video clip over and over almost 24/7 the whole 10 days cruise, so nausiating and annoying that It felt like some sort of sick mind control experiment, what happened to showing movies etc when the pools not in use?Theatre shows were passable though very shouty/noisy, a million miles away from Broadway standards, theatre was miserable and bland just cheap Odean seen it all before cinema style, infact the whole ship is nothing new or special all been seen and done for years, I won't be doing another cruise if this is the slop the cruise industry has to offer...."Read More

Before cruising, I read reviews and thought all the negative ones were overhyping the problems or just exaggerating for the sake of clicks and views. I should've listened, because this ship is just bad. The largest issues boil down to crowding, hours, and weather: Hours: Food is one of the biggest parts of a cruise from what I can tell, as you're just on the open ocean for over 50% of the ...

Chose this cruise for the destination. Have cruised 10+ times and several of those on Norwegian. This was the single worst cruise we have ever been on. The ship design is HORRIBLE, common space to passenger ratio is the smallest we have ever seen on any cruise ship. Embarkation: had to wait hours in a common space where the volume of people well exceeded the amount of seating (this will be ...

My best friend of 55 years and I booked the Prima because we were excited about being on a brand new ship that left from NYC, especially since we love easy cruising. We were greatly disappointed!! We embarked at 11:30 AM and began the search for seating in what became the perpetually crowded buffet!! We ended up in Indulge, which is a nice concept but which offers minimal choices in each ...

We traveled as a family of 3 with a teenager. The ship was beautiful and that was all that was positive about the ship. The layout and amenities and activities were severely lacking. There was only one small main pool that had 0 activities or entertainment, two hot tubs and two small infinity pools for a ship that holds over 3000 people. There were no planned activities for teenagers, you ...

I kept a journal during the cruise and highlighted all of the details of each day. Easiest way to share my experience! We chose Prima because it departed from New York City, which is close to our home. I traveled with my husband, John, and my daughters, Bev (15 years old) and Kyra (13 years old). Monday Woke up to a very rocky boat! Had room service, which arrived at 7 am (time zone change ...

My family and I recently embarked on a cruise aboard the Norwegian Prima, one of Norwegian Cruise Line's ships. While there were some aspects of the trip that we enjoyed, we ultimately cannot recommend this particular ship or cruise line. I'll break down the positives and negatives of our experience below. Positives: The Spa Therma Lounge was a highlight, featuring two warm pools, saunas, a ...

We are Platinum latitude members with NCL which means we been on a lot of their ships. This ships looks interesting and the concept of spreading people around sounds innovative but unfortunately they missed the boat. The good: 1. Nice rooms 2. Beautiful new ship 3. Indulgence Hall (when ipads work) 4. Bermuda The Bad: 1. Ship layout 2. All venues are too small, ...

Prima -- To Sail or Not to Sail - That is the question! Is it a one-hit wonder or an epic fail!

We are experienced cruisers and -- typically -- are easy to please. I selected Norwegian Prima basically because I am a new travel planner, we had never been on Norwegian or to Bermuda, and -- if I'm going to sell it, I should experience it. Basically, we had a nice cruise -- the first one by ourselves! The ship's decor is pleasing to the eye, and Bermuda and its residents are so welcoming. We ...

The Prima is one of the newest ships that I've cruised on & I really wanted to like this ship but in my opinion, NCL just failed to stick the landing with their latest redesign of their ships. Prior to the Prima, we've had 3 prior cruises with NCL on their breakaway plus ships, twice on the Escape & once on the Joy, both which we had relatively substantial experiences with. The Prima is ...

Pros: The ship is absolutely gorgeous. The Sid Norman show is awesome and the Summer musical is great. Bermuda, as always, is amazing. Cons: The functionality of EVERYTHING on the ship. Splash Academy has room for maybe 40-45 kids. There were 500+ kids on our ship. You have to win the Splash Academy “lottery” virtual queue race to get your kid in. If you don’t get in the initial rush, you will ...
