disappointing short cruise

Review for MSC Virtuosa to Baltic Sea

We have fortunately been on a few cruises with different cruise lines and unfortunately this time was nowhere near as good. We had a party of 8 people all booked under one name. When the times were issued for embarkment MSC had split us into 2 parties with different arrival times. We called to change this but was told it was impossible. This caused us stress but in fact we were all able to board ...

Fantastic Ship if money is no object

Review for Le Commandant Charcot to Baltic Sea

I notice that none of the other reviews talk about money. I'm therefore assuming this ship and itineraries are for people seeking to explore certain destinations and will pay whatever it takes to do so. In that case I would echo the other excellent reviews. However, almost everyone I spoke to on this 2 day ship visit, said that they had a great time, but they really had to think about if ...

Lucky Cruise

Review for Spitsbergen to Baltic Sea

I really can’t remember why I chose to cruise round the Outer Hebrides in April (the trip had been postponed for a couple of years due to the Covid epidemic) and I realised it was a mad decision on reading previous CC reviews BUT we were very lucky and had excellent weather. This meant that we missed only one landing on Iona. I think the company have learnt from previous reviews and have ...

Low Price at a Cost

Review for MSC Virtuosa to Baltic Sea

We were excited to see this cruise priced extremely low. We ended up paying in TOTAL $580 for 2 people for the cruise, gratuities included. We are from the US and flew out to Hamburg to depart. Boarding the ship was fairly quick and easy. The ports: We had to exit the ship about 1 1/2 hours later than anticipated in Rotterdam which did stress us out as we had the shortest time allotment at ...

Nice ship but never again

Review for MSC Virtuosa to Baltic Sea

Such a disorganised place. Beautiful ship but better avoid. Entertainment bad. Kids club horrible. My son was very sick the second day definitely from food , we had to pay 100 euros for a doctor to see him. Following days we were witnessing kids being sick in the common areas. I don’t think people were willing to pay that much for a check and honestly that looked like a quarantine case. Went ...

Taking the Olds!

Review for Britannia to Baltic Sea

I have never cruised with P&O before and I'm not certain I'd ever go back! The whole experience on board Britannia was shambolic from start to finish. I decided to book this trip over Easter with my two elderly Parents (both in their 80's) and my family of 5, 4 adults and a 17 year old. Firstly I was unable to book cabins close together as the price to do this was more than triple the price we ...

3* pay as you go ferry…. Ship of 2 halves, Yacht Club and the rest.

Shielding for years without a break, and having had a serious health diagnosis, we decided that at last it was time for a break between treatments, and this reasonably cheap cruise seemingly fitted the bill, or so we thought.... Boarding was the easiest of all our many cruises as we found the ship is already mostly full with passengers from all the ports it has visited…..it's a bit like a bus, ...

Another wonderful trip with Viking

Review for Viking Venus to Baltic Sea

This was our second Viking Ocean, and the quality and level of service was five star just as it always has been in the past. It doesn't ever seem like there are 930 passengers on the ship because of Viking's clever way of providing multiple living spaces throughout the ship, from the Explorer's Lounge at the front of the ship, to the Living Room on Deck 1, and many other delightful, comfortable, ...

Searching for the Northern Lights in March, 2023

My sister in law and I initially booked with Hurtigruten until we were informed that Viking sailed a similar itinerary. So grateful we switched! The Viking Venus is a beautiful ship! Soothing colors, beautiful spaces to relax, exceptional staff, delicious food and great entertainment. We boarded in Tilbury and this was the fastest onboarding of any cruise experience. We exited from the taxi ...

This sailing was titled "In Search of the Northern Lights." Embarked in UK and Debarked in Bergen Norway. All flights, transfers were handled by Viking in a professional manner. The staff of the ship in every department were exceptional. Customer focused. DINING The ship has 2 specialty dining options, Chefs Tale and Manfredi's.
