Fantastic experience. Amazing places, with hundreds of thousands of penguins and seals in South Georgia Island (a must) and Antarctica, with hundreds of whales along the away, among others. Top notch crew with non-stop options for science and history explorations. Wonderful people who love what they do. Very good food with tons of choices. Very nice boat with great first class cabins. Quark ...
I notice that none of the other reviews talk about money. I'm therefore assuming this ship and itineraries are for people seeking to explore certain destinations and will pay whatever it takes to do so.
In that case I would echo the other excellent reviews.
However, almost everyone I spoke to on this 2 day ship visit, said that they had a great time, but they really had to think about if ...
We chose this cruise to see the Kimberley region and as an added bonus the Solar Eclipse was taking place. This definitely not a cruise like any other it is truly an expedition and such a great learning experience from the moment you open your eyes to the time you close them again at the end of the day. We saw many sunrises and sunsets, geology only seen in the Kimberley area, rode the horizontal ...
I really can’t remember why I chose to cruise round the Outer Hebrides in April (the trip had been postponed for a couple of years due to the Covid epidemic) and I realised it was a mad decision on reading previous CC reviews BUT we were very lucky and had excellent weather. This meant that we missed only one landing on Iona.
I think the company have learnt from previous reviews and have ...
It was our second journey with Ponant, this time to Madagascar and vicinity. The ship is in great shape and feels very new. We used a regular balcony cabin and found it of a decent size and ample amount of storage space. The food and the service were fabulous. The shore tours were great. The team of naturalists was very good. Local guides were reasonably prepared. The lectures in preparation for ...
Chose this cruise for the destination and the fact that it was a small ship and expedition. All excursions were expedition with an experienced naturalists leading each off ship experience. Dining was exceptional. Staff on board took care of every detail to maximize your experience. Destination did not disappoint. There was entertainment each evening and while we did not dance the night away, I ...
This is a fabulous cruise from Argentina through Chile, a part of the world most people have never encountered. The weather is not totally ideal and can be a bit limiting but Viking does everything in their power to make up for it and provide alternatives. The ship is beautiful and the size is perfect for making many new friends!
I loved the zodiacs, Special Operations boat, and of course the ...
Priced right and good dates to Chile which we wanted to experience when previous trip to Chile cancelled. Outstanding service and staff. Expedition/science lectures great. Liked Chris Johnson’s friendly personality and knowledge. Star gazing night was bright experience for us even in darkness. Sharing info on scheduled events somewhat limited. Paperless makes info flow challenging. Would liked to ...
Once we got on the ship, our trip was seamless. I have gluten and dairy allergies and the executive chef and all of the staff were wonderful about making sure that I was not "contaminated", which I deeply appreciated. Nothing worse than getting sick while on vacation! The food on the ship was incredible...so many choices and we kept discovering different places to eat and areas of the restaurants ...
This was our fourth Viking cruise but first expedition with our earlier experiences being river cruises. I would give the river cruises the highest possible rating which might be why this cruise did not live up to our expectations. First, the air transportation provided by Viking was abysmal. The flights involved many seemingly extra connections and in Chile, couples did not get seats next to ...
